In January 2023 Reed Rushes and Kate Williams co-founded performance duo Star& Stan. Beginning with a performance series ~ EXULT ~ they performed various iterations of EXULT in venues, raves, galleries streets and beaches across NY. EXULT sees the coming together of their personas' Star and Stan. This latest work is the culmination of the year long EXULT series. Performed alongside Lu Yim, Angel Z, and Cherry Nin.



Exploring cultural identity, gender duality, Americana, and sexuality donned in costumes they have either made or sourced; Kate and Reed as Star and Stan draw from their Drag and club performance practices mixed with their visual art and dance training. Sharing a nuanced sense of what it is like to exist in a place that prioritizes capitalism, hedonism, and complacency, they speak to the horrors and delights of being alive.
